Blanco, TX

Blanco is where I spent Thanksgiving. A very kind Nanoer, Marie Angell, invited me to join her and her family on their ranch for the day. As she said: "Or, you could just eat a Wendy's salad in your hotel room." True, I thought.

Marie's family, from my naive Californian perspective, seemed to embody Texas. And they were very, very kind. But that's about all I can tell you, because as I said good-bye to the family patriarch, who was a US Marshal and a Texas Ranger, he said, "If you write about anything you saw or heard today, I'll have to hunt you down." So, um, it was a very nice day. Amen.
